BLAST! Program

Blast Program

The BLAST! Program is an exciting after-school enrichment program taught by Roper Mountain instructors at area elementary schools. The classes span several grade ranges, and all relate to the topic of LEGO robotics or website design. Small class sizes and activity driven curriculum make for a fantastic hands-on learning experience for students. If you have questions, contact the BLAST Coordinator, Robin Walsh, at or call the outreach department at 864.355.8940.

How It Works

If your school schedules a BLAST! class, we will send an educator with equipment to your school to teach the class (see scheduling information below). Your school must provide a space for the class, and a projector/screen for our instructor to use. We also request that the school provide computers or tablets for the class as needed, however Roper Mountain can provide these if needed. For schools that are part of the Greenville County School district, we will have our stoftware digitally pushed to your school. For non GCS schools we will need to schedule arrange with the school's media specialists to have the software installed. Roper Mountain will provide a flyer file to your school to advertise the class, and we will schedule online registration for a specific time and date on our website. Families will go to the website at that time to register and pay for the class. All proceeds will go to Roper Mountain. Schools that would prefer to pay for the entire class in one payment, rather than have individual students register separately may do so. Contact us for details.

If you would like to schedule a BLAST! class at your school, contact us and tell us the following information (note: you must have permission from the school principal to request a BLAST! class):

Once we get your request, we will check to see if the class you requested and an instructor are available for your requested dates. We will get back to you within 5 business days to either confirm your request or try and schedule alternate dates if we cannot meet your original request. Please submit requests a minimum of 45 days prior to your requested dates to allow time for registration. Requests for the current school year must be made prior to Feb. 1st.
