For more than 30 years, Roper Mountain Science Center has supported STEM education in South Carolina. Now, you can support Roper Mountain and get special benefits for yourself, including free admission to hundreds of science centers and museums nationwide through the Association of Science and Technology Centers’ Passport Program.
Please note that as a facility of Greenville County Schools, most of our weekdays are for school instruction. All buildings including the Living History Farm are closed to the public except during specified public programs including Friday Starry Nights, Afternoon Explorations, and Summer Adventure.

Guiding Star Memberships:
We are pleased to offer Guiding Star memberships to families who qualify. At $40 annually, this membership receives all the benefits of a Family level membership! Email Audrey Pyle at apyle@greenville.k12.sc.us with proof of eligibility, and we will be happy to set up your membership.
Eligibility with proof of SNAP/EBT (a copy of your card), digital WIC card (screenshot that includes your name) and photo ID. South Carolina residents only.
Annual Membership Policies
- As a general rule, a membership payment is only deductible to the extent it exceeds the value of the benefits provided in exchange. Roper Mountain estimates that the membership benefits provided at the Basic Membership levels exceed the cost of the membership. As a result, Basic Membership purchases are not deductible for federal income tax purposes. Please refer to Internal Revenue Service Publication 526 for more information.
- All of Roper Mountain’s membership categories provide benefits for one or two adults and their children or grandchildren (ages 18 or younger) living in the same household, unless otherwise specified. However, supporting memberships include several guest passes, which members may use to provide admission to others outside the home.
- Memberships do not apply to Home School Day. Payment for this educational event is not a member event.
- Memberships are nontransferable and nonrefundable. IDs will be checked along with membership cards for all ticket purchases and at all events.
- Roper Mountain Science Center retains the right to amend the terms of the membership program at any time.
- Legal Notice: all annual memberships are revocable licenses. Roper Mountain reserves the right to refuse or revoke membership and / or deny admission without refund for noncompliance with applicable rules and terms for inappropriate conduct.
