As part of Greenville County Schools, the Environmental Science and Sustainability Building is open to the public only during special events and Afternoon Explorations.
Understand the importance of water, ecology, biodiversity and the stewardship of our natural resources by immersing yourself in the exhibits of our newest building. Opened in 2021, this 30,000 square foot building features 7 classrooms, the Connections Café, and multiple exhibits: Our Water Story, Sustainable Future, the Nature Exchange and Habitat walkthrough. Every summer, a new and different 4,000 square foot travelling exhibit will be featured on the top floor.
Visitors can experience this new addition as part of admission during our Summer Adventure. They can also enjoy the Nature Exchange, Water Story, and Sustainable Future exhibits with tickets to Afternoon Explorations (September-May on Thursdays and Fridays). Students on field trips appreciate it as part of lessons during the school year.
